Viata lui Leonardo da Vinci

The beginning of the second decade of the XVI century found Leonardo travelling once again, this time to Rome where the Pope of the time, Leo X, Giuliano De' Medici's brother, had invited him to present a project for the reclamation of the Paludi Pontine; this time Leonardo completed his task to the end. The inexorable passage of time began to make itself felt and Leonardo, courted by Francesco I, the new King of France, who had promised him a short of lifetime pension and a castle in exchange for his moving to Amboise and a few small commissions, once again set out. It was in Amboise, afflicted by various illnesses, including the total paralysis of one arm, that he spent the last days of his life. On the 2nd May 1519 Leonardo da Vinci died in the Castle of Cloux and was buried in the church of S. Florentin, in the city of Amboise.
